Names For My Magazine

I have decided to do an RnB/ HipHop magazine

These are the names that I came up with for my magazine, but instead of choosing myself I am going to ask other people which name they prefer, to see other peoples opinions.
  • Attitude
  • Pulse
  • Force
  • Energy
  • Spirit
  • Soul
  • Beat
  • Bass

50% of the people I asked preferred 'Beat' as the name of my magazine, and the other 50% chose a mixture between 'Attitude' and 'Soul', so I have decided to name my magazine Beat, as it had the majority of votes.

Masthead Design

These are some the fonts I tried out for the masthead of my magazine.
I am going to use the top right font - Bauhaus 93 - as it looks the most modern out of them all and also links in more with the genre of my magazine. I decided against the bottom three as they are very thin writing and not bold enough for an RnB/Hiphop magazine, and the Forte font is to fancy and formal for the genre of my magazine.

Evaluation

  • In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
  • How does your media product represent particular social groups?
  • What kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?
  • Who would be the audience for your media product?
  • How did you attract/address your audience?
  • What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
  • Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

  • Mobile video clips
  • Prezi, goanimate
  • Embedding youtube videos
  • Hyper-linking to other webpages or within your blog

New Music Magazine Brief

Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine. All images and text used must be original, produced by you - minimum of four images.

College Magazine Brief

Preliminary exercise: using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally you must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.
